Purchasing Manager

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, components, and services
  • Source, evaluate, and qualify suppliers including but not limited to plastic resin, plastic injection, printing, fabric, and factory supplies
  • Manage the entire procurement process, including supplier selection, negotiation, contract review, and ongoing supplier relationship management
  • Continue negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers, leveraging volume discounts where applicable
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, production, and quality control, to understand material requirements, introducing competition and ensure timely availability
  • Analyze market trends, monitor supplier performance, and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
  • Monitor inventory levels, anticipate demand fluctuations, and develop inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize shortages
  • Stay updated on industry developments, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements related to the procurement of materials
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the purchasing team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus
  • Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in sourcing and procurement of plastic resin, plastic injection, printing, fabric, and factory supplies is an advantage
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier management, contract negotiation, and cost optimization
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Leadership abilities, with a track record of managing a team and driving results
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements related to the materials under purchasing is a plus
  • More qualified candidates may be considered for the role of Senior Purchasing Manager
