New SynJ Phone Model from AT&T Improves Flexibility and Scalability for Small Businesses

Cordless Deskset Builds on the Success of the SynJ Long-Range Phone System
2011/10/11

Beaverton, OreAdvanced American Telephones, which manufactures AT&T branded telephones under a license agreement with AT&T Intellectual Property, today announced the availability of the AT&T SB67148 Cordless Deskset, adding another option to the popular SynJ® long-range phone system line. SynJ is one of the only small business phone systems to feature optional DECT 6.0 repeaters that extend talk range up to a half mile.*

Expanding the growing line of AT&T-branded small to medium-sized business (SMB) telephony solutions, the SB67148 Cordless Deskset offers small businesses the ability to mix and match phone options to fit their offices.  Customers using the SynJ SB67138 system ($379.95 MSRP) can choose between the standard SB67108 Cordless Handset ($99.95 MSRP) or the new SB67148 Cordless Deskset ($129.99 MSRP), and they can add the SB67128 Repeater ($99.95 MSRP) to extend the range from the SynJ base.

“Based on customer feedback, we have added even more flexibility and choices to our popular SynJ long-range phone system, enabling small businesses to have the best possible experience,” said Graham Williams, vice president of the SMB group at Advanced American Telephones. “We are constantly enriching our products to help small businesses be flexible, scalable and grow as their businesses grow, and we will be there to support them every step of the way.”

The SB67148 Cordless Deskset is a “corded” phone that wirelessly links to the SynJ base.  It can be placed anywhere within the range of the SynJ base and repeaters, without connection to a phone line jack by using its built-in DECT 6.0 radio to connect to the telephone system.  This “instant office” enables small businesses to expand quickly through easy installation of new models.

Each cordless deskset extension supports four lines and an individual voice mailbox.  The SB67148 Cordless Deskset shares the same features and user interface as the SB67108 Cordless Handset, in a form factor similar to the SynJ base unit, so current customers already will be familiar with its operation and interface.

How SynJ Works

One of the most popular features of the SynJ phone system is the optional repeaters, which enable callers to roam up to 2,940 feet away from the base station.  Each individual repeater (SB67128) extends the range of the cordless handset by approximately 980 feet and does not require a wired connection to the base – only an AC outlet for power.  Ideal for use in multi-level buildings, warehouses, restaurants, distribution centers, farms, large residential properties, manufacturing plants and other similar facilities, SynJ allows users to take calls throughout the workplace, as active calls are handed off from base to repeaters for seamless communication.

SynJ also helps increase productivity with push-to-talk intercom, call transfer and three-way conferencing features. The scalable system enhances business communications with auto attendant and up to 10 DECT 6.0 cordless handsets or cordless desksets with individual voice mailboxes for each extension and message-waiting indication. Additionally, it supports caller ID and call waiting information on a large, lighted display.

In addition, SynJ offers even more flexibility with the addition of external sources for hold music, enabling SMBs to change or update music or messages from a variety of sources – both internal and external. Another enhanced feature for SynJ is a two-year warranty on the entire product line, including cordless desksets, handsets and repeaters.

The SynJ system also has become a popular product offering within the large residential telephony market, providing a fully featured communications product line that certified Resale Partners can offer along with home video, audio and other home automation systems.
