Hong Kong – VTech Holdings Ltd (HKSE: 303; LSE: VTH; ADR: VTKHY) announced today that the Group and its staff in Hong Kong and the mainland China have donated a total of HK$3,350,880 towards disaster relief efforts for the Sichuan earthquake victims. The donation was channeled to various relief agencies, including the Red Cross, with the aim of making every effort to help the victims recover from the disaster and rebuild their lives.
Immediately after the devastating earthquake in Sichuan province on 12th May, the Group initiated a fund-raising campaign among staff in its Hong Kong and the mainland China offices and factories. This campaign was fully supported by all staff and has raised funds of over HK$1.9 million.
The Group has contributed the donation to various charitable and governmental organizations, including the Hong Kong Red Cross, World Vision Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF, Oxfam, Red Cross in Dongguan and Qingyuan, the Shenzhen Municipal Charity Organization and Liaobu Town Government.
